Nancy Oliveri is a fine art photographer born in Providence, RI , USA in 1958. She attended Hartford Art School in the early 80' where she studied film photography and conceptual art and lived and worked in New York City for the next three decades. She is the recipient of numerous international awards and honors for her 20 self-published photo books, her digital photography and her recent innovations in Artificial Intelligence. With a background in film,, collage and montage , her lens based work values the power of relationships between images. a concept that is most suited to book design since it allows a personal curatorial space. Now retired as a private practice psychotherapist in NYC she lives on a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico. Her work is exhibited and included in private collections in Mexico. Europe & the US. She has been influenced by modern psychoanalysis, surrealism , cinema and science fiction. Her AI images are made from custom AI models trained exclusively on her photographic archives.


Nancy Oliveri's fine art photography practice includes accomplishments in multiple genres including street photography, still life ,landscape and portraiture. She has worked with independent curators and venues and platforms including Elizabeth Avedon, Fotonostrum Mediterannean House of Photography, PH21 Gallery in Budapest and Barcelona, Mark Sink, of the Big Picture, Month of Photography , Whitehot Magazine for Contemporary Art, Musee Magazine, South xSoutheast Photo Gallery in Georgia. She has shown extensively in the Trieste Exhibit Around Urban Photo Awards where her book Deja Vu Already Seen was selected as a ffinalist by Susan Meisalis, The Pollux Awards, Julia Margaret Camron Awards, The Tokyo International Foto Awards, The Museum of the City of New York's NY Responds Exhibition, Women Street Photographers, L'Oiel, The Eye of Photography, Ruben Natal San-Miguel, & Kris Graves, PX3, the Prix de la Photographie Paris, Guelman and Unbekannt Gallery in Berlin, among others. She has had two solo exhibitions at PH21 Gallery in Budapest, one in 2016 of street photography titled American Dreams and a 2024 solo exhibition of her AI work titled Self-Portrait on a Life Raft. Upcoming exhibits include the Sideshow individual exhibition at Fotonostrum Gallery in Barcelona and a group exhibition: The Natural and Artificial at PH21.
